Dear Friends,

Greetings in the name of our friends and colleagues in Fond-des-Blancs, Haiti.

All continues to be going well in Fond-des-Blancs in our absence. This month there was an epidemic of measles at the schools. Even our elementary school principal got it, but all are healing and most are back in school now. The kindergarten is missing a teacher, but Naomie is able to keep everything going at a normal pace.

Jean and I will be going to Fond-des-Blancs for 12 days during the month of March. We are going to help host a large group of young people coming from Kansas. There will be 22 of them altogether which is one of our largest groups ever and will require extra preparation. The group will be working on the building of one of the satellite schools and will be photographing the students of L’Exode.

During that week Jean will have another meeting with the people who can help us get the airstrip open. We still have hopes this will happen. I am looking forward to seeing how far along the larger bridge is coming. This bridge will enable everyone to bypass the part of the road that always becomes a river during the rainy season.

There are very few signs if any that Mardi Gras is a big deal here in Atlanta, but it is always a big deal in Haiti. The church leadership committee and the school leadership are planning activities for the young people of our churches. It is always important to give them alternatives to the “celebrations” that are going on around the community. All schools are officially closed for the first half of the week of Mardi Gras.

Prayer Requests
1. Safe and comfortable travel for the group and for us.
2. Teaching staff for the kindergarten/preschool.
3. Quality and quantity of work that can get done by the group.
4. Continued prayer for Jean Francois, Ruth, Naomie and Adona.
We are over half way through our time in the US. Thank you for keeping your thoughts and prayers toward us and your contributions toward HCDF ministry projects. We are humbled by your generosity.

Yours in Christ,

Joy

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
